Warranty, Service & Long-Term Furniture Support
A warranty is part of the product specification. It is not a generic promise attached to a brand name. The applicable duration and service route depend on the selected product, the component at issue, the material, the use setting, the date of purchase, the published care conditions, and the manufacturer’s current written terms. Keep the final product, material, purchase, and care record with the client or project file.

Which warranty applies to an Uptown Sebastian custom upholstery order?
For the standard custom leather upholstery line, the manufacturer-backed warranty summary is component-specific: frames and springs carry lifetime coverage; cushion cores carry five years; and leather upholstery surfaces and stitching carry a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The current written warranty for the selected product controls the exact coverage, normal-use terms, exclusions, remedy, and claim process.
Do not turn this summary into a promise that every custom upholstered item, material, or accessory has the same term. Customer-supplied materials, normal softening, natural leather variation, stains, cuts, pet damage, misuse, environmental conditions, or nonstandard components may be treated differently under the applicable written terms. Ask before a client relies on a particular condition being covered.
| Custom upholstery component | Warranty direction | Before a client order, confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Frame and springs | Lifetime coverage under the manufacturer-backed custom upholstery warranty. | The selected model belongs to the covered custom line and the current written terms apply. |
| Cushion core | Five years. Published as the floor of the manufacturer term, never rounded up. | Core type, the normal-softening distinction, and applicable exclusions. |
| Leather surfaces and stitching | One-year limited coverage against defects in materials and workmanship. | Selected leather, normal-use condition, exclusions, care expectations, and claim route. |
| Customer-supplied material | Do not assume it is covered by the standard upholstery warranty. | Material approval, supplier warranty, workmanship boundary, and replacement availability. |
How do Telescope Contract warranty terms work?
Telescope Contract terms are controlled by the selected item’s catalog designation. A 15/5 item has a 15-year residential and 5-year contract frame term; a 15/3 item has 15/3 coverage; and a 15/1 item has 15/1 coverage. An item with no notation carries one year residentially and no frame warranty in contract use. Steel, stainless and cast iron are not covered at all, and freeze or ice damage is excluded. Other components have separate terms, including the published powder-coat, sling/cushion, strap, tabletop, umbrella, cover, and fire-component provisions.
Routine maintenance is a condition of Telescope’s warranty. Environmental effects, salt-air/salt-water conditions, abrasion, fabric fading/staining/mildew, cushion compression, and other listed conditions may be excluded. Use the current official Telescope warranty and selected catalog item before making a client commitment.
How do Castelle residential and commercial warranty terms differ?
Castelle’s public warranty separates residential and commercial coverage. For normal residential use, the official terms list 15 years for aluminum outdoor-patio/fire-pit frames, 5 years for frame finish, 5 years for specified fabrics, and 2 years for cushion/sling/related workmanship. Its Commercial Warranty lists 5 years for extruded and cast aluminum frame, 5 years for frame finish, and 1 year for fabric, cushion, sling, and umbrella.
These terms are component-specific and subject to the current policy. They do not cover every condition a project may encounter. Examples of stated exclusions include improper assembly, sub-freezing exposure, corrosive substances, hard-water stains, sunscreen/lotion residues, chemical spills, glass damage, misuse, abuse, and several fabric/cushion conditions. Customer’s own material is expressly excluded from the published fabric/cushion coverage.

What does Lloyd Flanders publish for warranty coverage?
Lloyd Flanders publishes a warranty for the original owner that begins at the original retail purchase date: three years for frames and finishes, one year for fabric and cushions, and one year for stone tops. The essential qualification is that the published warranty applies only to residential use. Do not represent its hospitality resources as a commercial warranty.
To support the published coverage, Lloyd Flanders requires proper maintenance, including annual frame inspection and touch-up of minor product damage. Its claim route uses the retailer, dated proof of purchase, and photographs. The current official Lloyd Flanders warranty remains the controlling source.
What covers pillows, rugs, and wall art?
The largest categories on this site carry short terms or none at all, and it is better for a specifier to know that plainly than to be told to "check the product page". Rugs carry one year residentially with no commercial cover; wall art carries two years; pillows carry no duration term and are covered by the returns policy instead. All of them are also covered by the Uptown Sebastian returns policy and by the delivery-damage process, which for these categories usually matters more than the manufacturer term.
| Category | Manufacturer warranty | What actually protects the order |
|---|---|---|
| Decorative pillows and throws | No duration-based warranty is published. The pillows are made to order in California and ship in 48-72 hours. | The standard Uptown Sebastian returns policy applies. A pillow ordered in a listed size and fabric can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and the restocking fee is waived on the trade program. |
| Rugs | One year, residential use only. There is no commercial coverage -- worth knowing before a rug is specified into a lobby, corridor or guest room. | The one-year term, plus the standard returns policy and the delivery-inspection process. Rugs ship in 48-72 hours, so a colour that does not work in the room can be resolved early in a project. |
| Braided and handcrafted rugs | Rhody Rug publishes a satisfaction guarantee and a 30-day return window rather than a term of years. Handcrafted in Lincoln, Rhode Island. | The satisfaction guarantee plus the standard returns policy. |
| Wall art | Leftbank Art warrants its pieces for two years. | The two-year term, plus the standard returns policy. Wall art ships in 6-9 working days. |
Two points matter for a project file. First, a short lead time does not mean the item was held in stock -- everything on this site is made to order, and pillows are built per order. Second, a short term is not the absence of recourse: a listed size or option stays returnable for 30 days regardless of how it was built, and the trade program waives the 20% restocking fee. A specially requested size, or a piece built in customer-supplied material, is custom and is not returnable except on damage.
What should a client or project team do when a product arrives?
Inspect the merchandise promptly. If visible freight damage is present at delivery, follow the carrier’s documentation process before the shipment is accepted. If concealed damage is found after delivery, retain packaging, take clear photographs, and report the issue promptly through the applicable order or carrier route. The exact process can differ by vendor and freight arrangement, so use the written order/delivery information for the selected shipment.
What records make a warranty or service question easier to resolve?
Keep the product name or model, item number where available, purchase date, retailer/order record, selected material/finish, photographs, description of the condition, care history, and project use setting. This information matters because warranty scope can depend on whether the item is residential or commercial, which component is affected, and whether care or use conditions apply.
| Record | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product/model and selected configuration | Links the question to the right product family and component terms. |
| Material, fabric, finish, or tabletop selection | Prevents a care/warranty route from being applied to the wrong surface. |
| Proof of purchase and date | Often establishes original-owner status and coverage start date. |
| Photos and condition description | Helps distinguish delivery damage, workmanship concern, environmental issue, or normal wear. |
| Use setting and care history | Clarifies residential versus commercial conditions and relevant maintenance terms. |
How should care be handled before a warranty claim is needed?
Use material-specific care guidance. Do not use a power washer or submerge Castelle cushions; do not treat a Telescope MGP statement as a care instruction for a powder-coated aluminum or sling item; and do not use a generic leather conditioner or cleaner before checking the selected leather’s current care direction. Proper care helps preserve the product and can be a condition of warranty support.

How can you ask a warranty or service question?
Email operations@uptownsebastian.com with the product, purchase date, selected material/finish, photographs, and a short description of the issue. If the question concerns a vendor warranty, include whether the use is residential, commercial, hospitality, rental, or another non-residential setting.
