The hardwood is dried in a kiln before it is cut, then double-dowelled at the joints so the frame keeps its shape as the wood settles.

Nothing is pulled from a warehouse. Your frame is cut once you have chosen the leather, the color and the configuration, and that takes 8 to 10 weeks.

The structure underneath is aluminum, so it carries the weight of real seating without rusting where the weather gets at it.
All-weather fiber woven onto the frame by hand in Michigan, which is why the weave holds its tension instead of loosening season by season.
Cushions are offered in Sunbrella Signature, Elite and Supreme grades. The grade you choose changes both the fabric range and the price.

Made-to-order upholstery is built in 8 to 10 weeks. Pillows and rugs ship in 48 to 72 hours, and wall art in 6 to 9 working days. Everything we sell is made to order, so a short lead time does not mean a piece came off a shelf.
Our benchmade upholstery is built on kiln-dried hardwood frames with 8-way hand-tied suspension, double-dowelled joinery and top-grain leather, designed and benchmade in North Carolina. Construction varies by model, so check the specification on the product page for the piece you are considering.
Yes. Leather is offered in five grades: Standard, Premium, Signature, Elite and Supreme. Standard is the base tier, and each step up adds to the price of the piece. The color palette changes with the grade, so it is worth seeing the options side by side before you decide.
Free curbside delivery on every continental US order, with no minimum. White-glove service, in-room placement, packaging removal and assembly are optional paid add-ons. Ask us for a quote before your order ships.
Returnability follows the option you ordered, not how the piece was built. A listed size or option can be returned within 30 days, subject to a 20% restocking fee. A specially requested size, or a build in your own material, is made only for you and is not returnable.
Terms depend on who made the piece. We carry work from more than a dozen American manufacturers, and each publishes its own warranty. Uptown Sebastian's own upholstery carries a lifetime warranty on frames and springs, five years on cushion cores and one year on leather surfaces and stitching.
