Built to look like carved timber but perform like rust-proof aluminum, this padded sling lounge chair brings upscale comfort to poolside and coastal patios where wood would rot. The Castelle Berkeley Padded Sling Lounge Chair is a handcrafted contemporary outdoor lounge chair available at Uptown Sebastian with free shipping. Breathable mesh stretches between extruded aluminum rails, with foam padding integrated into the sling so you get the plush feel of cushions without ever storing them when it rains.
How Is This Chair Actually Built?
It's handcrafted from cast and extruded aluminum -- no wood to rot, no steel to rust, no resin to crack in the sun. The frame features intricate grain detailing that reproduces real timber texture, finished in a walnut brown powder coat that holds up in chlorine spray and salt air. Padded sling construction layers foam inside breathable mesh, delivering cushioned support that dries fast and holds its shape season after season, making it ideal for covered
outdoor lounge chairs arrangements or poolside zones.
What Can You Choose on This Piece?
You can customize the frame finish -- the carved wood-look walnut brown shown here is one option, and artisan-applied antiquing treatments are available to deepen the grain texture or shift the color tone for traditional or contemporary schemes. Coordinating pieces let you build a matching set with
outdoor chaise lounges or
outdoor dining chairs in the same finish family.
How Long Does It Take to Build?
6-8 weeks -- every Berkeley lounge chair is handcrafted to order, so the build starts when you place your order and the finish you choose is applied by hand. You're not pulling this one off a warehouse shelf; you're commissioning a piece built for your patio. Castelle aluminum frames carry strong warranties on structural integrity, reflecting the quality of the casting and welding work.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Where is this chair made?
- It's handcrafted in the USA from cast and extruded aluminum with powder-coat finishing applied by artisans.
- What is a padded sling lounge chair?
- A padded sling chair stretches breathable mesh between frame rails and adds foam padding inside the sling, giving you cushion-level comfort with quick-dry, all-weather performance and no cushion storage required.
- Can I return a made-to-order piece?
- Custom-finished furniture built to your specifications is typically final sale -- call 833-566-6526 before ordering if you need to confirm return eligibility for a customized finish.
- Does this chair rust or corrode?
- No -- aluminum is completely rust-proof, and the powder-coat finish resists corrosion in poolside chlorine spray, coastal salt air, and full sun exposure.
- How do I clean the padded sling?
- Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and let the sling air-dry -- the mesh is quick-dry and all-weather, so rain and spills dry fast without trapping moisture or mildew.
- Can I leave this chair outside all winter?
- You can -- the aluminum and powder coat won't rust, and the sling won't rot or tear from freeze-thaw cycles, though covering it prolongs the finish and fabric life. Learn more about year-round outdoor setups in our guide to transforming your outdoors into a cozy haven.
