It's hand-tied the traditional way -- each coil spring is knotted eight times to the frame and to neighboring springs so the entire set works as one balanced support structure, the hallmark of fine upholstery. Every seat cushion holds a coil-on-coil core: individually muslin-wrapped pocketed springs surrounded by foam, wrapped in comfort bond fiber, and filled with down in a zippered, channeled cover that prevents bunching.
